Praise My Soul the King of Heaven

on Monday, 12 December 2016. Posted in Messages, 2016 Messages

Usually when the year comes to an end, we look back over the year to assess how the year has been; how we fared during the year and what the Lord has done for us. For me the Lord has done great things and all I have to do is to say thank you Lord.

My Message of Grace for this month is fully captured in the following song by Lyte, Henry Francis, 1793-1847.

1 Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
to his feet your tribute bring.
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
evermore his praises sing.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King!

2 Praise him for his grace and favor
to his people in distress.
Praise him, still the same as ever,
slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Glorious in his faithfulness!

3 Fatherlike he tends and spares us;
well our feeble frame he knows.
In his hand he gently bears us,
rescues us from all our foes.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Widely yet his mercy flows!

4 Angels, help us to adore him;
you behold him face to face.
Sun and moon, bow down before him,
dwellers all in time and space.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace!

Indeed, He has done great and marvellous things. He caused my horn to be exalted like that of a unicorn. He continuously, all the yearlong, put songs of rejoicing in my mouth and crowned the year gloriously form me. My experience throughout this year has been that of great rejoicing and so like James H. Fillmore my mouth bursts out in praise of my Lord and King:

1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever,
I will sing, I will sing.
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever,
I will sing the mercies of the LORD.
With my mouth will I make known
your faithfulness your faithfulness;
With my mouth will I make known
your faithfulness to all generations.
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever,
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD.
The sound of rejoicing will not diminish in our lives in Jesus mighty name.

The Lord bless and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, now and forevermore. Amen. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a glorious New Year ahead.
